Seasonal Opening Arrangements

General Opening of the Museum has now ended for the winter season.

The museum is currently undergoing an exciting time of development and will re-open regularly from Spring 2018. If you wish to visit at an alternative time we host a range of special events throughout the year, please see the listings below for further details.

Alternatively, you can pre-book group visits throughout the year.

Discover more about art inspired by timekeeping. Get your creative cogs turning with FREE creative art workshops as part of the National Big Draw Festival. See live Artist & Craft demonstrations, meet working Clock and Watch makers, and browse the Museum’s fantastic exhibits. Plus pop-up ‘Clock House’ Café.

Group visits:

In addition to the museum’s summer opening arrangements and special events, organised groups can pre-book a guided tour of the unique collection.

Group visits to the Museum are led by our knowledgeable staff and volunteers, who provide a warm welcome and an informative tour featuring the museum’s fantastic collection of clocks, watches and other timepieces.

Visits can be tailored to meet the needs and interest of the group, and we advise groups allow up to 2 hours for their visit.

Group Visit Admissions:

  • £10 per person
  • Please note a minimum charge per group applies of £100 for visits during offices hours and £200 for evening and weekend visits.
  • Free car parking

It is also possible to tie in a group reservation for refreshments before or after your tour at the independent onsite Clock House Cafe. Clock House Cafe:

Refreshments are available onsite at the Clock House Café which is open every day from 10 am to 4.30 pm.  We advise groups wishing to visit the café for a tea or coffee, or to sample the cafe’s wide ranging & tasty delights, to book in advance.

The Clock House Cafe offer a range of special offers for museum tour groups who wish to dine with them as part of their visit to Upton Hall.  More details and menus can be found on at the link here.

Access Statement:

Disabled parking is available, with ground floor wheelchair access. 

During ‘Special Event Days’ and ‘Group Visits’ Some of the museum displays and activities may be located on the first floor, accessed via stairs.  A slideshow of photographs of some of these items is presented on the ground floor for visitors unable to access these areas.
