Sunday 30 October, 10am-4pm
Join us as we host our 2016 ‘Fall Back Show’ and take a weird and wonderful look around the British Horological Institute Museum’s collection, which for one day only will be inspired by Victoriana, and design and technological elements of wacky Steampunk culture, featured alongside the museum’s fabulous collection of clocks and watches.
It takes place at the home of the BHI Museum, at Upton Hall in Nottinghamshire, near Newark-on-Trent, on Sunday 30 October, 10am-4pm, the day the clocks go back one hour to end British Summer Time.
This year’s Fall Back show is hosted in partnership with the British Horological Institute and the Newark Steampunk Society. During the event visitors can learn more about the Museum’s fascinating collections of antique and contemporary clocks and watches, and see live demonstrations of clock and watch making skills in action. Be amazed at bizarre and beautiful steampunk attire courtesy of Newark’s very own Steampunk society. Explore a selection of the Museum’s weirdest and wackiest pieces, including a clock powered by water, another almost 9 feet in height and made entirely of wood, and others which may challenge how you tell the time!
There will be hands-on activities for the whole family including a ‘Hickory Dickory Dock’ trail, steampunk wall art, and hands-on creative photography activities.
Why not bring along one of your own timepieces to a free advisory session with one of our horological experts. Visitors can also browse a selection of craft and clock and watch stalls, and try delicious homemade treats courtesy of the Clockhouse Cafe.
