Learn from the man who looked after ‘Big Ben’…

...And join Paul Roberson FBHI on his four-day course – ‘Servicing and Correcting Faults in a Single Train Clock’ – from 7–10 October at Upton Hall.
The former Clockmaker at the Palace of Westminster, Paul was in charge of looking after the Great Clock of Westminster, ‘Big Ben’, and is now a regular and much-respected tutor at Upton Hall.
‘It’s amazing to think that I started as an apprentice in a basement and went on to look after ‘Big Ben’,’ says Paul. ‘If you had told me at technical college that I would have such a privilege and honour, I would never have believed it.
‘I’m retired from my position at the Palace now, but I’m a BHI tutor and Vice President of the Institute. It’s always nice to teach enthusiastic people. Sharing knowledge and passing on your skills is such a pleasure. If you’re mechanically minded then it’s usually just about being shown and guided – anyone can do it.’
